How It Works

Baadshah contains Acetamiprid, a neonicotinoid insecticide that targets the central nervous system of insects. When pests come into contact with the spray or ingest treated plant material, the active ingredient binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in their nerve cells. This disrupts normal nerve signal transmission, causing continuous nerve stimulation, tremors, paralysis, and eventually death.

Because Baadshah is systemic, it is absorbed by the plant and moves through the vascular system to new shoots and leaves. This means even parts of the plant that were not directly sprayed are protected. The translaminar property allows the chemical to move through the leaf tissue from the upper surface to the lower surface, reaching pests that hide underneath leaves where conventional sprays often miss.

The product works through three modes of entry: contact action (pests die on touching the spray), stomach action (pests die after feeding on treated plant parts), and systemic action (pests die when sucking sap from treated plants). This multi-pronged approach ensures thorough control and helps manage resistant pest populations.

When to Use

Apply Baadshah as soon as you notice the first signs of sucking pest infestation on your crop. Early signs include curling leaves, yellowing, stunted growth, sticky honeydew secretion, or visible clusters of small insects on the underside of leaves. For cotton, apply during the vegetative and flowering stages when jassids, aphids, and whiteflies are active. For vegetables like okra, cabbage, and chilli, apply during early to mid-vegetative growth when aphids and thrips appear. For rice, apply during tillering to panicle initiation stages when brown planthopper populations build up.

Avoid spraying during peak sunlight hours or when bees are actively visiting the field. The best time for application is early morning or late evening. Do not apply if rain is expected within 4–6 hours, as this may reduce effectiveness.

Step by Step Usage Instructions

1. Prepare: Wear protective gear including gloves, mask, and goggles before handling the product.
2. Measure: Take the recommended dose (20–40 g per acre) based on your crop and pest.
3. Mix: Make a slurry by mixing the powder in a small amount of water. Stir well until fully dissolved.
4. Dilute: Add the slurry to the required volume of water (200–240 litres per acre) in the spray tank. Stir thoroughly.
5. Spray: Apply as a foliar spray ensuring complete coverage of both upper and lower surfaces of leaves. Direct the nozzle to reach hidden areas where pests gather.
6. Clean: Wash the spray equipment thoroughly after use. Wash hands and exposed skin with soap and water.

• Personal protection: Always wear gloves, mask, goggles, and long-sleeved clothing while handling and spraying.
• Bee safety: This product is toxic to bees. Do not apply when bees are actively visiting the treatment area. Spray in the evening to minimize bee exposure.
• Environmental safety: Avoid spray drift to water bodies, as the product is slightly toxic to fish. Do not contaminate ponds, rivers, or water sources.
• Storage: Store in original container in a cool, dry place away from food, feed, and children's reach. Shelf life is 2 years under normal conditions.
• Disposal: Dispose of empty containers according to local regulations. Do not reuse containers for any purpose.
• Hygiene: Wash thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling the product.

Side Effects & Phytotoxicity

When used at recommended doses, Baadshah is safe for the target crops. However, overuse or application under stress conditions (extreme heat, drought, or waterlogging) may cause phytotoxicity. The product is moderately toxic to birds and toxic to bees if directly exposed. It is slightly toxic to fish. Avoid direct contact with non-target plants and sensitive areas.
