Best Agrolife Tricolor is a broad-spectrum, triple-action fungicide that combines three powerful active ingredients: Trifloxystrobin 10%, Difenoconazole 12.5%, and Sulphur 3% in a Suspension Concentrate (SC) formulation. This unique combination brings together a strobilurin (FRAC 11), a triazole (FRAC 3), and elemental sulphur to provide comprehensive disease control with prophylactic, curative, and eradicative action. Tricolor is designed to protect crops from a wide range of fungal diseases including early blight, late blight, powdery mildew, rust, anthracnose, sheath blight, scab, and Alternaria, making it a versatile solution for farmers growing crops like Tomato, Rice, Grapes, Chilli, Wheat, Mango, and Apple.

The product works through multiple modes of action: Trifloxystrobin inhibits mitochondrial respiration in fungi, cutting off energy production and stopping fungal growth at early stages. Difenoconazole disrupts sterol biosynthesis, which is essential for fungal cell membrane integrity, leading to abnormal growth and death. Sulphur acts as a multi-site contact fungicide and also enhances the efficacy of the other two active ingredients by up to three times. This triple-action approach not only provides robust disease control but also serves as an excellent resistance management tool by combining active ingredients from different FRAC groups. Tricolor offers both systemic and contact activity, moving inside the plant for lasting protection while forming an external shield on the foliage.

Key Benefits

  • Triple-action protection – Provides prophylactic (preventive), curative, and eradicative action against fungal diseases at different stages of infection.
  • Broad-spectrum disease control – Effective against blights, powdery mildew, rust, anthracnose, sheath blight, scab, leaf spots, and Alternaria across multiple crops.
  • Systemic + contact activity – Absorbed and moves within the plant for internal protection while also forming a protective layer on the surface.
  • Enhanced efficacy with sulphur – Sulphur acts as a catalyst, boosting the effectiveness of Trifloxystrobin and Difenoconazole by up to 3 times.
  • Excellent resistance management – Combines active ingredients from different FRAC groups (FRAC 3 and FRAC 11), reducing the risk of fungicide resistance development.
  • Healthier crops and better yield – Thorough disease protection leads to healthier plants, improved crop quality, and more abundant harvests.

How It Works

Tricolor works through three distinct and complementary modes of action that target fungi at multiple levels. Trifloxystrobin belongs to the Quinone outside Inhibitor (QoI) group (FRAC 11, Strobilurins). It works by blocking mitochondrial respiration in fungal cells, specifically inhibiting the electron transport chain at the Qo site. This stops the fungus from producing energy (ATP), effectively starving it to death. Trifloxystrobin is most effective on germinating spores and early fungal growth stages, making it a strong preventive and early-curative component.

Difenoconazole belongs to the Demethylation Inhibitor (DMI) group (FRAC 3, Triazoles). It inhibits a specific enzyme (C14-demethylase) that is essential for sterol production in fungi. Sterols are critical components of fungal cell membranes. Without sterols, the fungal cell membrane becomes weak and abnormal, leading to disrupted cell growth and eventual death. This provides both curative and eradicative action against established infections.

Sulphur is a multi-site contact fungicide that has been used for decades. In Tricolor, it not only provides its own fungicidal action by interfering with fungal respiration and enzyme activity but also acts as a catalyst that enhances the efficacy of Trifloxystrobin and Difenoconazole by approximately three times. The combination of systemic movement (from Trifloxystrobin and Difenoconazole) and contact activity (from Sulphur) ensures comprehensive protection both inside and on the surface of the plant.

TomatoEarly blight, Late blight450 ml500 litres
VegetablesPowdery mildew, Leaf spot450 ml500 litres
FruitsRust, Anthracnose450 ml500 litres

Note: For Tomato, the active ingredient dosage is 45 g a.i. (Trifloxystrobin) + 56.25 g a.i. (Difenoconazole) + 13.5 g a.i. (Sulphur) per hectare. Dosage range across crops is 450–500 ml per hectare depending on disease pressure and crop stage.

When to Use

Tricolor should be applied at the first sign of disease symptoms or as a preventive spray when conditions are favourable for disease development. For Tomato, apply during the vegetative to flowering stage when early blight and late blight are most likely to appear. For Vegetables, apply at the early infection stage when powdery mildew or leaf spot symptoms are first observed. For Fruits, apply during pre-flowering to fruit set stages to protect against rust and anthracnose. Regular monitoring of the crop is recommended. Under high disease pressure, repeat applications may be needed. Always follow the recommended dosage and interval between sprays.

Step by Step Usage Instructions

  1. Measure – Measure the required quantity of Tricolor (450–500 ml per hectare) as per the crop and disease recommendation.
  2. Mix – Take a small quantity of clean water and add the measured product. Stir thoroughly to create a uniform mixture.
  3. Dilute – Add the mixture to the remaining water (500 litres per hectare) in the spray tank while agitating continuously.
  4. Spray – Fill the sprayer and apply the solution uniformly on the crop foliage, ensuring complete coverage of all plant parts.
  5. Timing – Apply during early morning or late evening when temperatures are lower and wind is minimal for best results.
  6. Clean up – Wash spray equipment thoroughly after use. Do not dispose of leftover spray solution near water bodies.
