IIL Bheema Plus is a powerful systemic insecticide from Insecticides India Limited (IIL), containing Thiamethoxam 30% FS (Flowable concentrate for Seed treatment). This versatile product is designed to protect crops from a wide range of sucking and soil-dwelling pests through both seed treatment and foliar spray applications. As a neonicotinoid insecticide, Bheema Plus works by interfering with the pest's nervous system, stopping them from feeding and leading to their death.
Bheema Plus offers farmers dual flexibility — it can be used as a seed dresser to give young seedlings a strong, pest-free start, or as a foliar spray to manage established pest populations during the growing season. The product is effective against a broad spectrum of pests including aphids, jassids, whiteflies, thrips, shoot fly, termites, stem fly, whorl maggot, and green leaf hopper (GLH). It is recommended for use on major Indian crops such as cotton, maize, wheat, soybean, chilli, okra, sunflower, rice, and sorghum.
With its systemic action, the active ingredient is absorbed by the plant and moves throughout its tissues, providing long-lasting protection from within. The rain-fast formulation ensures reliable pest control even during wet weather. Bheema Plus is compatible with many other pesticides, making it easy to integrate into existing pest management programs. Whether you are a small farmer looking to protect your seedlings or managing a larger crop area, Bheema Plus provides a dependable solution for early and in-season pest control.
Key Benefits
- Systemic protection from within — The active ingredient is absorbed by the plant and moves through its tissues, protecting all parts against feeding pests.
- Dual application flexibility — Can be used as a seed treatment for early-season protection or as a foliar spray to control active pest infestations.
- Broad-spectrum pest control — Effective against a wide range of sucking pests including aphids, jassids, whiteflies, thrips, shoot fly, termites, stem fly, whorl maggot, and green leaf hopper.
- Multiple modes of action — Works through contact, stomach, and systemic activity for robust and reliable pest control.
- Rain-fast formulation — Provides effective pest control even during rainy weather conditions, reducing the need for re-application.
- Improves seedling health — As a seed treatment, it promotes better germination, stronger seedling vigor, and healthier plant stands.
- Compatible with other pesticides — Can be easily integrated into existing pest management programs with other agrochemicals.
How It Works
Bheema Plus contains Thiamethoxam, which belongs to the neonicotinoid chemical group. When applied as a seed treatment, the active ingredient is absorbed by the germinating seed and moves systemically through the plant's vascular system as the seedling grows. This means the entire young plant becomes protected from within against pests that try to feed on it.
When used as a foliar spray, Thiamethoxam is absorbed by the leaves and stems and translocated throughout the plant tissues. The insecticide works by targeting the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect's nervous system. This disrupts normal nerve signal transmission, causing the pest to stop feeding almost immediately. The insect becomes paralyzed and eventually dies. Bheema Plus acts through contact (direct spray on the pest), stomach (when the pest feeds on treated plant parts), and systemic activity, providing comprehensive protection from multiple angles.

When to Use
Seed Treatment: Apply Bheema Plus as a seed treatment before sowing. This is ideal for protecting young seedlings during their most vulnerable early growth stages. Treated seeds should be sown within 24 hours of treatment for best results.
Foliar Spray: Apply when pest infestation is first noticed on the crop. Early application at the onset of pest activity gives the best control. Monitor crops regularly and spray when pest populations reach economic threshold levels. The rain-fast formulation ensures the product stays effective even if rain occurs after application.
