HPM Bhoomiputra is a broad-spectrum systemic fungicide that combines two powerful active ingredients — Azoxystrobin 18.2% and Difenoconazole 11.4% in a Suspension Concentrate (SC) formulation. This dual-action fungicide is designed to protect crops from a wide range of fungal leaf diseases including blast, blight, rust, mildew, leaf spot, and anthracnose. It works both as a preventive shield and a curative treatment, making it a versatile and reliable choice for farmers growing paddy, wheat, maize, cotton, sugarcane, tomato, chilli, onion, and turmeric.
Bhoomiputra belongs to the Strobilurin + Triazole chemical group and offers systemic movement within the plant. It rapidly translocates to all parts of the crop, providing uniform coverage and long-lasting protection. The SC liquid formulation mixes easily in water, sticks well to leaves, and is rainfast within 2 hours of application. This product is suitable for foliar spray and helps maintain healthy, green foliage for better photosynthesis and higher yields.
Key Benefits
- Dual-action protection: Works as both a preventive and curative fungicide, stopping disease before it starts and curing existing infections.
- Broad-spectrum disease control: Effectively manages over 15 fungal diseases including blast, sheath blight, rust, powdery mildew, early and late blight, anthracnose, red rot, smut, and downy mildew across multiple crops.
- Systemic movement: Absorbs into the plant and spreads to all parts including new growth, ensuring complete coverage and protection.
- Rainfast formulation: Remains effective on crops even if rain occurs 2 hours after spraying, reducing the risk of wash-off.
- Resistance management: Two different modes of action reduce the chance of fungi developing resistance compared to single-molecule fungicides.
- Improved plant vigor: Helps keep leaves green and healthy for longer, boosting photosynthesis and contributing to better crop quality and yield.
- Long-lasting residual effect: Extended protection minimizes the need for frequent repeat applications.
How It Works
HPM Bhoomiputra uses a two-pronged strategy to fight fungal diseases at the cellular level. The first active ingredient, Azoxystrobin (Group 11 - Strobilurin), works by blocking mitochondrial respiration in the fungus. It stops the fungus from producing energy (ATP), which prevents spore germination and stops the growth of fungal mycelium. Without energy, the fungus cannot survive or spread to healthy plant tissue.
The second active ingredient, Difenoconazole (Group 3 - Triazole), acts as a sterol demethylation inhibitor. It disrupts the production of ergosterol, which is a key building block of the fungal cell membrane. When ergosterol production is blocked, the cell membrane becomes weak, leaks, and eventually collapses, killing the fungus.
Together, these two modes of action provide preventive, curative, and eradicant control. Azoxystrobin protects the plant surface and prevents new infections, while Difenoconazole moves systemically inside the plant to hunt down and eliminate infections already present in the tissue. This combination also significantly reduces the risk of resistance development, making Bhoomiputra a more reliable long-term solution for disease management.

Application Method: Mix the required quantity in clean water and apply as a foliar spray using a knapsack or power sprayer. Ensure thorough and uniform coverage on both upper and lower surfaces of leaves. Use a hollow cone nozzle for fine mist coverage.
When to Use
Apply HPM Bhoomiputra at the first sign of disease symptoms or as a preventive spray when disease risk is high. For best results, spray on actively growing crops in fine weather conditions. The product is rainfast within 2 hours of application, so ensure at least 2 hours of dry weather after spraying. Avoid application on crops that are stressed due to drought, waterlogging, or extreme temperatures, as results may be unreliable. For crops like paddy, apply during tillering to flowering stage. For vegetables like tomato and chilli, apply from 20–25 days after sowing or at pre-flowering stage. Use mixed spray solution within 24 hours of preparation.
Step by Step Usage Instructions
- Prepare: Wear protective gear including gloves, mask, and goggles before handling the product.
- Measure: Use 0.4 ml of Bhoomiputra per litre of water. For one acre, measure 150 ml of product.
- Mix: Pour the measured quantity into a small amount of clean water first. Stir well to form a uniform mixture. Then add this to the main spray tank filled with the required amount of water (150–200 litres per acre). Mix thoroughly.
- Spray: Use a knapsack or power sprayer with a hollow cone nozzle. Apply as a foliar spray ensuring complete coverage of leaves, stems, and all plant parts. Pay special attention to the underside of leaves where many fungal diseases start.
- Post-application: Wash the sprayer thoroughly after use. Do not allow spray solution to remain in the tank for more than 24 hours. Dispose of empty containers safely.
Compatibility
HPM Bhoomiputra is generally compatible with common insecticides like Imidacloprid and Chlorantraniliprole. However, do NOT mix with highly alkaline products such as Bordeaux mixture or lime-based sprays. When mixing with other products, always perform a small jar test first to check for any adverse reaction. Follow the correct mixing order: fill tank with water, add wetting agents if needed, then add Bhoomiputra, and finally add other compatible products while stirring continuously.
Precautions & Safety
- Always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, mask, and goggles during mixing and application.
- Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after handling the product.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep tightly sealed in original containers.
- Keep out of reach of children, pets, and away from food, feed, and drinking water.
- Do not spray near ponds, rivers, or water bodies as the product is toxic to aquatic life.
- Avoid spray drift onto apple trees, as certain apple varieties are sensitive to Azoxystrobin and may suffer leaf burn.
- Dispose of gloves and empty containers safely after use. Do not reuse empty containers for any purpose.
- In case of accidental contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water. If ingested, administer activated charcoal and seek medical help immediately.
Side Effects & Phytotoxicity
Apple trees (especially varieties like McIntosh) are sensitive to Azoxystrobin and may suffer leaf burn or phytotoxicity. Avoid spray drift onto apple orchards. Do not apply on stressed crops (drought, waterlogging, extreme temperatures) as results may be unreliable. Always follow recommended dosage; over-application may cause crop injury.
