Key Benefits
- Controls major sucking pests like Brown Plant Hopper (BPH), White Backed Plant Hopper (WBPH), Green Leaf Hopper (GLH), and Whitefly effectively
- Acts as an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) that stops young insects from developing into adults, reducing future pest populations
- Works through both contact and stomach action, giving thorough coverage against target pests
- Safe for beneficial insects and natural predators, making it suitable for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs
- Environment-friendly profile with low toxicity to non-target organisms when used as recommended
- Long-lasting control by targeting the nymphal stage before pests can cause serious crop damage
How It Works
Crystal Tribune contains Buprofezin 25% SC, which belongs to the Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) group of insecticides. Unlike conventional insecticides that kill adult pests directly, Buprofezin works by inhibiting chitin formation in young insects. Chitin is a key structural component of the insect's exoskeleton (outer shell). When young nymphs absorb the chemical through contact or ingestion, they are unable to form a proper exoskeleton during molting. This prevents them from developing into the next life stage, causing them to die at the nymphal stage itself. Because it targets the growth process rather than the nervous system, it is highly specific to immature insects and has minimal impact on adult beneficial insects, making it an excellent choice for sustainable pest management.

When to Use
Apply Crystal Tribune at the first signs of pest infestation for best results. For Paddy, apply when Brown Plant Hopper (BPH), White Backed Plant Hopper (WBPH), or Green Leaf Hopper (GLH) nymphs are first noticed on the crop. For Cotton, apply at the early stages of Whitefly infestation before pest populations become heavy. Since Buprofezin works best on young nymphs, early application is critical — once insects reach the adult stage, the product is less effective. Regular crop scouting is recommended to identify pest presence at the right time.
Step by Step Usage Instructions
- Check pest level: Inspect the field regularly. Apply only when pest infestation is noticed at early stages.
- Measure the dose: Use the recommended dosage based on your crop and pest. For Paddy, use 320-400 ml per acre. For Cotton, use 330-400 ml per acre.
- Mix with water: Fill the spray tank with half the required water. Add the measured quantity of Crystal Tribune and stir well. Add remaining water and mix thoroughly.
- Spray application: Apply as a foliar spray using a knapsack or power sprayer. Ensure uniform coverage on the crop, especially on the lower parts of the plant where hoppers and whiteflies hide.
- Timing: Spray in the morning or late afternoon when temperatures are moderate. Avoid spraying during strong winds or when rain is expected.
- Clean equipment: After spraying, rinse the spray tank and equipment thoroughly with clean water.
Compatibility
Crystal Tribune (Buprofezin 25% SC) is generally compatible with most commonly used insecticides and fungicides. However, it is advisable to conduct a small jar test before mixing with any new product. Do not mix with strongly alkaline substances. For specific tank-mix recommendations, consult your local agriculture officer or agri-input dealer.
