Darrick Montana is a new-generation combination fungicide that brings together two powerful active ingredients — Azoxystrobin 18.2% and Difenoconazole 11.4% — in a liquid suspension concentrate (SC) formulation. This dual-action product belongs to the Strobilurin + Triazole chemical group and offers both preventive and curative protection against a broad range of fungal diseases. It is designed for farmers growing cereals, vegetables, and cash crops who need reliable, long-lasting disease control.
Azoxystrobin works by stopping fungal spore germination in the early stages, preventing the disease from taking hold, while Difenoconazole disrupts fungal cell membrane synthesis, stopping the growth and reproduction of the fungus. Together, they provide complete protection that covers both the outside and inside of the plant. The product moves systemically through the plant, including translaminar movement from the upper leaf surface to the underside, protecting areas that ordinary sprays often miss.
Montana Fungicide is suitable for a wide range of crops including chilli, tomato, paddy, maize, wheat, cotton, turmeric, onion, sugarcane, groundnut, black gram, soybean, and coffee. It effectively controls diseases such as anthracnose, powdery mildew, blight, rust, sheath blight, leaf spot, downy mildew, and more. Beyond disease control, it also improves crop health, reduces stress, and supports better flowering, grain setting, and overall yield. The convenient liquid formulation makes it easy to measure, mix, and spray.
Key Benefits
- Broad-spectrum control of major fungal diseases across cereals, vegetables, and cash crops in a single product.
- Dual systemic action with both preventive and curative protection, so it works before and after infection appears.
- Translaminar movement reaches the underside of leaves and new growth areas that ordinary sprays miss.
- Long-lasting protection reduces the need for frequent repeat applications, saving time and labour.
- Promotes healthier, greener, and more vigorous crops with better flowering and grain setting.
- Reduces crop stress and improves nutrient uptake, supporting stronger plants and higher yields.
- Convenient liquid SC formulation that mixes easily in water and sprays evenly on foliage.
- Rainfast action resists washing off by rain, keeping protection effective in wet conditions.
How It Works
Darrick Montana works through the combined action of two different active ingredients that attack the fungus at different stages of its life cycle. Azoxystrobin, belonging to the strobilurin group, inhibits spore germination and mycelial growth in the early stages of infection. It also shows antisporulant activity, which means it reduces the production of new spores that would spread the disease further. Azoxystrobin moves through the xylem of the plant, providing protection to the entire plant, including new areas of growth.
Difenoconazole, belonging to the triazole group, works by interfering with the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. Without ergosterol, the fungus cannot build healthy cell walls, so its growth stops and further infection is prevented. This dual attack on both spore germination and fungal growth makes the product highly effective against a wide range of fungal diseases.
The product has both systemic and translaminar movement. It moves throughout the leaf from the tip to the base and from the upper surface where it lands to the underside, protecting areas that conventional contact fungicides typically miss. This means the protection reaches deep into the plant tissues, giving complete and long-lasting disease control.

When to Use
Darrick Montana should be applied at the right crop stage to get the best disease control. For most crops, the ideal time is at flowering or early growth stages when the plants are most vulnerable to fungal attack. It can also be applied at the first appearance of disease symptoms for curative action.
- Chilli: Apply at flowering or early stage for anthracnose and powdery mildew control.
- Tomato: Use for both preventive and curative control of early and late blight.
- Paddy: Apply from vegetative to flowering stage for blast and sheath blight.
- Maize: Spray at early disease symptoms for blight and downy mildew.
- Wheat: Apply from tillering to heading stage for rust and powdery mildew.
- Cotton: Use from vegetative to boll stage for leaf spot and grey mildew.
- Turmeric: Apply during vegetative growth for leaf blotch, leaf spot, and rhizome rot.
- Onion: Spray at early growth for purple blotch, stemphylium blight, and downy mildew.
- Sugarcane: Apply during vegetative growth for red rot, smut, and rust.
For best results, apply at the first sign of disease or as a preventive measure before disease pressure builds up in the field.
