How It Works

Darrick Nysa works through two complementary modes of action. Captan, a contact fungicide, acts on the surface of the plant. It interacts with the fungus and disrupts a critical process in its life cycle, preventing the fungus from growing and spreading on the plant surface. This gives strong protective and eradicant activity against fungal spores that land on the crop.

Hexaconazole, on the other hand, is a systemic fungicide. It is absorbed by the plant and moves within its tissues, where it interferes with the fungal cell membrane function. This stops the fungus from developing further and also prevents the formation of new spores (anti-sporulant action). Because of this systemic movement, the product can reach and control infections that have already started inside the plant.

Together, these two ingredients provide a complete defence — Captan protects the outside while Hexaconazole works from the inside. This combined action makes the product effective for both prevention and cure, and also helps in resistance management when used in rotation with other fungicides.

Recommended Dosage & Application

The recommended dosage of Darrick Nysa is 2–3 gm per litre of water, or about 300 gm per acre. The product is applied as a foliar spray.

• For potato, apply at the first appearance of early or late blight symptoms.
• For black gram, spray when powdery mildew is first noticed.
• For vegetables, apply from the vegetative to flowering stage to manage powdery and downy mildew.

Choose a non-windy day with no rain for spraying to avoid drift and washing away. Cooler hours of the day, such as early morning or late afternoon, are ideal. The number of sprays depends on the severity of the disease — the first spray should be done soon after infection, and subsequent sprays can be taken after 10–15 days.

Step by Step Usage Instructions

1. Wear gloves, mask, goggles, and protective clothing before handling the product.
2. Take the required dose of Darrick Nysa (2–3 gm per litre of water) and mix it in a small quantity of clean water.
3. Stir thoroughly to make a uniform solution.
4. Add the remaining water as per the required spray volume and mix well.
5. Apply the solution with a knapsack, battery, or HTP sprayer for uniform coverage of the crop.
6. Spray during calm weather for best absorption and to avoid drift.
7. Maintain a pre-harvest interval of 7–10 days before harvesting.
