HPM Aashirwad GR is a broad-spectrum granular insecticide containing Fipronil 0.3% GR, manufactured by HPM Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd. It belongs to the Phenylpyrazole chemical group and works through both contact and stomach action. The product is specially designed for soil application in Rice (Paddy), Sugarcane, and Wheat crops, providing effective control of soil-borne and stem-boring pests that are difficult to reach with foliar sprays. 

Aashirwad GR comes in easy-to-apply granule form, which means no pumps or sprayers are needed. The granules are broadcast directly onto the field or mixed with sand or fertilizer for even distribution. Once applied, the active ingredient Fipronil is absorbed by plant roots and moves upward through the plant's vascular system (xylem), reaching stems and leaves. This systemic action ensures that even pests hiding deep inside plant stems—like stem borers—are effectively controlled. 

In addition to pest control, Aashirwad GR is known to have a phytotonic or plant growth enhancement effect, which supports stronger root development and healthier crop growth. The product is classified as moderately hazardous (WHO Class II) and carries IRAC Mode of Action Code Group 2B (GABA-gated chloride channel blockers). It is registered under CIR-38091/(219)/2002-Fipronil(GR)-29 and is available in pack sizes of 1 kg and 5 kg.

How It Works

HPM Aashirwaad GR contains Fipronil 0.3% GR, which belongs to the phenylpyrazole chemical group. When applied to the soil, the granules release the active ingredient gradually, creating a protective zone around the root area. Fipronil works through both contact and ingestion action. Pests that come in contact with treated soil or feed on treated plant roots and stems absorb the insecticide into their system.

Once inside the pest, Fipronil blocks GABA-gated chloride channels and glutamate-gated chloride (GluCl) channels in the insect nervous system. These channels are responsible for calming nerve signals. By blocking them, the insect's nerves become over-excited, causing uncontrolled tremors, paralysis, and eventually death. Because this mode of action is different from older insecticide groups, Aashirwaad GR remains effective even against pest populations that have developed resistance to other chemicals. The granular form provides slow and steady release, ensuring the active ingredient stays active in the soil for an extended period, protecting crops from soil-dwelling and stem-boring pests throughout critical growth stages.

Recommended Dosage & Application

Apply granules directly to the soil at the base of the crop. Ensure even broadcasting for uniform protection. Apply at early pest incidence stage for best results. Avoid waterlogging immediately after application.

When to Use

Apply HPM Aashirwaad GR at the first sign of pest infestation or as a preventive soil treatment during early crop growth stages. For rice, apply during the vegetative stage when stem borers, leaf folders, and plant hoppers are first observed or when "dead heart" symptoms appear. For sugarcane, apply during early cane growth stage (pre-internode formation) to control Early Shoot Borer and Root Borer effectively. For wheat, apply at sowing or early growth stage to protect against termites in the root zone. Early application ensures the granules are in place before pest populations build up, providing protection during the most vulnerable crop stages. Avoid application when heavy rainfall is expected, as waterlogging can reduce effectiveness.

Step by Step Usage Instructions

1. Wear gloves and protective clothing before handling the product.
2. Measure the required quantity of granules based on the crop and pest pressure (6.67 to 10 kg per acre).
3. For uniform application, mix the granules with dry sand or soil at a 1:1 ratio if needed for even broadcasting.
4. Broadcast the granules evenly over the soil surface, focusing on the base of the crop plants.
5. For row crops, apply granules in bands near the root zone for targeted protection.
6. After application, lightly irrigate the field if soil moisture is low, to help the granules settle and release the active ingredient.
7. Avoid waterlogging or heavy flooding immediately after application.
8. Wash hands and equipment thoroughly with soap and water after use.
9. Store unused granules in a cool, dry place away from children, pets, and food items.
