HPM Cheers is a systemic fungicide containing Thiophanate Methyl 70% WP (Wettable Powder) from HPM Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd. It is designed to protect a wide range of crops from common fungal diseases such as powdery mildew, scab, brown rust, leaf blight, ring rot, and anthracnose. This fungicide works both as a preventive and curative treatment, making it a practical choice for farmers dealing with fungal infections at different stages of crop growth.
Belonging to the Benzimidazole chemical group, HPM Cheers penetrates plant tissues and moves systemically within the plant to provide internal protection. Its wettable powder formulation includes wetting and dispersing agents that help the product spread evenly on leaves and stems for better coverage. The product is suitable for use on vegetables like tomato, brinjal, chilli, and okra, as well as fruits like apple and grapes, and cereal crops like wheat. It is available in a 250 gm pack and is intended for agricultural use only.
Key Benefits
- Broad-spectrum disease control: Targets multiple fungal diseases including powdery mildew, scab, brown rust, leaf blight, ring rot, and anthracnose in a single product.
- Dual-action protection: Works as both a preventive and curative fungicide — stops existing infections and prevents new ones from forming.
- Systemic action for lasting results: Penetrates plant tissues and moves internally, providing longer-lasting protection compared to contact fungicides.
- Effective on late-stage diseases: Remains effective even when diseases have progressed, helping farmers save crops at critical growth stages.
- Excellent coverage and adherence: Advanced wettable powder formulation with wetting and dispersing agents ensures even spreading and good stickiness on plant surfaces.
- Versatile crop compatibility: Suitable for vegetables, fruits, and cereal crops, making it a flexible option for mixed farming operations.
How It Works
HPM Cheers contains Thiophanate Methyl, a systemic fungicide from the Benzimidazole group. When sprayed on plants, the active ingredient is absorbed through leaves and stems and moves upward within the plant's vascular system (xylem). Once inside, it interferes with fungal cell division by binding to the beta-tubulin protein, which prevents the fungus from growing and spreading. This systemic movement means the fungicide reaches parts of the plant that may not have been directly sprayed, offering internal protection against hidden infections.
Because it moves within the plant, HPM Cheers provides longer-lasting protection than contact fungicides that only stay on the surface. It also forms a protective layer on the plant surface, acting as a barrier against new fungal spores. This dual action — internal systemic protection plus surface barrier — makes it effective both as a preventive spray before disease appears and as a curative treatment after infection has started.

When to Use
Apply HPM Cheers at the first sign of disease symptoms for best results. It can also be used as a preventive spray before disease onset in areas where fungal infections are common during the season. For curative use, apply when early symptoms such as white powdery patches (powdery mildew), rust-colored pustules (brown rust), or dark spots on leaves and fruits (scab, anthracnose, leaf blight) are first noticed. Early application gives the systemic fungicide time to move within the plant and stop the infection from spreading.
Repeat applications may be needed depending on disease pressure and weather conditions. Avoid spraying during windy weather or when rain is expected, as this can wash off the product or cause uneven coverage. For best results, apply during calm weather in the morning or late afternoon when temperatures are moderate.
