HPM Cyperhit-25 is a broad-spectrum insecticide containing Cypermethrin 25% EC, a powerful synthetic pyrethroid formulation. It is designed to provide fast and effective control against a wide range of chewing and sucking insect pests that commonly damage vegetable and fibre crops. The product works through both contact and stomach action, meaning it kills pests on direct contact as well as when they feed on treated plant parts. This dual mode of action ensures quick knockdown and reliable protection in the field.
Cyperhit-25 is particularly effective against bollworms, fruit borers, shoot borers, jassids, and epilachna grubs. It is recommended for use on important Indian crops such as cotton, brinjal (eggplant), okra (bhindi), and cabbage. The emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation mixes easily with water and provides good coverage on plant foliage. Farmers value this product for its fast action, long residual activity, and cost-effectiveness at low dosage rates. It belongs to IRAC Group 3A (Sodium Channel Modulators) and is classified as a Synthetic Pyrethroid (Type II) insecticide.
This product is a trusted choice for Indian farmers dealing with heavy caterpillar and pest infestations. It helps protect crop yield and quality by stopping pest damage quickly. However, users should follow all safety precautions as the product is classified as moderately to highly toxic (Class II / Yellow Label). Note: This product is restricted in the state of Kerala.
Key Benefits
- Fast knockdown action: Stops pests from feeding immediately upon contact or ingestion, reducing crop damage rapidly.
- Dual mode of protection: Works through both contact (touch) and stomach (ingestion) action for complete pest control coverage.
- Long residual activity: Provides extended protection after spraying, reducing the need for frequent reapplication.
- Cost-effective at low doses: Highly potent even at low application rates, making it economical for large-scale farming.
- Broad-spectrum control: Effective against multiple pest types including bollworms, borers, jassids, and grubs across different crops.
- Good rainfastness: Sticks well to leaves and remains effective even in light rain or challenging weather conditions.
- Multi-crop versatility: Suitable for cotton, brinjal, okra, cabbage, and other vegetable crops.
How It Works
Cyperhit-25 contains Cypermethrin, which belongs to the synthetic pyrethroid group of insecticides. It acts as an axonic poison that targets the nervous system of insects. When the insect comes into contact with the spray or ingests treated plant material, the active ingredient binds to sodium channels in the nerve cells. This keeps the sodium channels open permanently, causing a massive and continuous influx of sodium ions into the nerve cells. This overstimulation leads to hyperexcitation, uncoordinated tremors, and loss of normal nerve function. The insect quickly becomes paralysed and dies within a short time after exposure.
Because Cyperhit-25 is non-systemic, it does not enter the plant tissues. Instead, it remains on the surface of leaves, stems, and fruits, providing a protective barrier. This makes it highly effective against pests that feed on the outer parts of the plant. The EC (emulsifiable concentrate) formulation helps the chemical penetrate the waxy cuticle of leaves and the outer shell of insects, improving overall effectiveness. The product provides both immediate knockdown and long-lasting residual protection, making it a reliable tool for integrated pest management programmes.

| Okra (Bhindi) | Jassids, Fruit Borer, Shoot Borer | 80 - 200 ml | 150 - 200 ml | 200 L | 500 L | 1 - 1.5 ml |
Application Method: For foliar application only. Mix the required quantity of Cyperhit-25 in a small amount of water first, stir well to form a white emulsion, then add to the main tank with the remaining water. Use a knapsack or power sprayer with a hollow cone nozzle for uniform coverage. Ensure thorough coverage of both upper and lower leaf surfaces, especially the underside where jassids and larvae often hide.
When to Use
Apply Cyperhit-25 at the first sign of pest infestation or when the pest population reaches the economic threshold level. For cotton, apply at square formation stage when bollworm activity is noticed. For brinjal and okra, apply when shoot borer or fruit borer damage is first observed on young shoots or fruits. Early morning or late evening hours are the best time for spraying, as this avoids peak heat and active bee foraging periods. Avoid spraying during strong winds, rain, or when the crop is wet from dew or rain. Repeat application may be needed depending on pest pressure and crop growth stage. Always monitor the crop regularly to decide the right time for the next spray.
Step by Step Usage Instructions
- Check pest level: Inspect the crop thoroughly. Apply only when pest infestation is confirmed and at an early stage for best results.
- Choose the right time: Spray during early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler and bees are less active.
- Prepare the spray solution: Fill the spray tank with half the required amount of clean water. Add the measured dose of Cyperhit-25 and stir well. Add the remaining water and mix thoroughly until a uniform white emulsion forms.
- Calibrate the sprayer: Ensure the sprayer nozzle is clean and set to produce a fine spray. Use a hollow cone nozzle for good coverage.
- Apply uniformly: Spray evenly on all plant parts, especially the underside of leaves, young shoots, and fruiting bodies where pests hide. Ensure complete coverage of the foliage.
- Post-application care: Do not enter the sprayed field until the spray has dried completely. Wash the sprayer thoroughly with clean water after use. Dispose of empty containers safely - do not reuse for any purpose.
- Follow waiting period: Observe the pre-harvest interval (PHI) before harvesting the crop: 1 day for brinjal, 3 days for okra.
Compatibility
Cyperhit-25 is generally compatible with common fungicides and insecticides such as Ethion. However, do not mix with highly alkaline substances like lime sulphur or Bordeaux mixture. Always perform a small jar test before mixing with any new product to check for physical compatibility. Mix only the quantity needed for immediate use - do not store mixed spray solution for later use.
