HPM Eagle is a broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide containing Diafenthiuron 50% WP (Wettable Powder). It is designed to effectively control a wide range of sucking and chewing pests including whiteflies, aphids, thrips, jassids, mites, and diamondback moth across multiple crops. HPM Eagle works through both contact and stomach action, making it effective against larvae, nymphs, and adult stages of pests.
What makes HPM Eagle stand out is its unique combination of properties. It has a vapour phase effect and translaminar activity, which means it can reach pests hiding on the underside of leaves where many sprays cannot reach. Once pests feed on treated plants, they become paralyzed and remain immobile on the crop, dying within 3-4 days. Additionally, the product stops pest reproduction immediately after feeding, helping break the pest life cycle. With no known cross-resistance to other insecticides, HPM Eagle is an excellent choice for resistance management programs in Indian agriculture.
HPM Eagle is registered for use on cotton, cabbage, chilli, brinjal, cardamom, and citrus crops. It comes in a wettable powder formulation that mixes easily with water for foliar spray application. The product is manufactured by HPM Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd., a trusted Indian agri-input company with decades of experience in serving farmers.
Key Benefits
- Broad-spectrum control – Effective against whiteflies, aphids, thrips, jassids, mites, and diamondback moth in one product
- Dual action on all life stages – Kills larvae, nymphs, and adult pests through both contact and stomach action
- Vapour phase & translaminar effect – Reaches and controls pests on the lower and hidden leaf surfaces where ordinary sprays miss
- Quick paralytic effect – Pests become immobile within hours and die within 3-4 days after application
- Reproduction halt – Stops pest reproduction immediately after feeding, reducing future pest generations
- No cross-resistance – Unique chemistry makes it effective even where other insecticides have failed due to resistance
- Long-lasting protection – Provides durable control and helps maintain crop health throughout the growing season
How It Works
HPM Eagle contains Diafenthiuron 50% WP, which works through a combination of contact and stomach action. When the spray comes in contact with the pest or when the pest feeds on treated plant parts, the active ingredient enters the pest's body and attacks its nervous system. This causes paralysis, making the pest immobile on the plant within hours. The pest stops feeding immediately and dies within 3-4 days.
One of the key features of HPM Eagle is its vapour phase activity. After application, the product releases vapours that spread within the crop canopy, reaching pests hiding in protected areas. Additionally, its translaminar property allows the active ingredient to penetrate leaf tissues and move to the underside of leaves. This ensures control of pests like whiteflies, mites, and thrips that typically feed on the lower leaf surface and are difficult to reach with conventional contact insecticides.
Another important benefit is that HPM Eagle stops pest reproduction immediately after feeding. This means even if some pests survive, their ability to reproduce is halted, breaking the pest life cycle and reducing the need for repeated sprays.

When to Use
Apply HPM Eagle when pest incidence is first observed on the crop. Early application at the initial stages of pest infestation gives the best results. For sucking pests like whiteflies, aphids, thrips, and jassids, apply as soon as you notice the first signs of infestation on leaves or growing points. For mites on chilli and citrus, apply when mite colonies begin to appear on the lower leaf surface. For diamondback moth on cabbage, apply at the early larval stage before the pest causes extensive damage to leaves.
For best results, ensure thorough spray coverage, especially on the underside of leaves where pests like whiteflies, mites, and thrips typically hide. Repeat application may be necessary depending on pest pressure and environmental conditions. Avoid spraying during strong winds, heavy rainfall, or extreme heat, as these conditions can reduce the effectiveness of the spray.
