HPM Gold is a premium bio-fertilizer containing Vesicular-Arbuscular Mycorrhiza (VAM) fungi in a granular, water-soluble matrix formulation. It is designed to act as a powerful root growth promoter and soil conditioner for Indian crops like Wheat, Paddy (Rice), and Vegetables. Unlike chemical fertilizers that only supply nutrients directly, HPM Gold works by forming a natural partnership with plant roots. The mycorrhizal fungi in this product attach to the root system and create an extensive network of fine fungal threads (hyphae) that extend deep into the soil. This network acts like a second root system, helping plants access water and nutrients—especially Phosphorus, Zinc, and other micronutrients—that ordinary roots cannot reach.

HPM Gold is classified under the Green Label (safe/non-toxic) category, making it suitable for eco-friendly and sustainable farming practices. It is a biological product that improves soil health over time, reduces transplant shock in young plants, and helps crops withstand environmental stresses like drought and heat. The product is available in a 1 kg pack and is applied directly to the soil at a standard dose of 4 kg per acre. It can be mixed with common fertilizers like Urea, DAP, or organic manure for convenient broadcasting. With zero pre-harvest interval (PHI), it is safe to use at any stage of crop growth. HPM Gold is especially useful for correcting nutrient deficiency symptoms like yellowing of leaves, improving root architecture, and boosting overall crop yield and quality.

Key Benefits

  • Explosive root development: Rapidly colonizes plant roots and multiplies root surface area, allowing crops to absorb more nutrients and water from the soil.
  • Nutrient unlocking: Solubilizes fixed soil nutrients like Phosphorus, Zinc, and Calcium, making them instantly available to the plant and correcting deficiencies.
  • Drought and stress resistance: The deep fungal network accesses moisture from lower soil layers, keeping crops hydrated during dry spells and protecting against heat stress.
  • Reduces transplant shock: Helps young seedlings establish faster in the field, especially in Paddy, by hardening stems and improving early growth.
  • Eliminates yellowing (chlorosis): Promotes deep greenness and chlorophyll production by maximizing micronutrient uptake, correcting leaf yellowing naturally.
  • Biological disease defense: Builds a natural protective shield around roots, helping crops resist soil-borne pathogens and nematodes.
  • Improves soil health: Stimulates microbial activity in the soil and improves soil aggregation over time, leading to better long-term soil fertility.
  • Zero waiting period: With 0 days PHI, it can be applied at any crop stage without worrying about harvest intervals.

How It Works

HPM Gold works through a natural symbiotic relationship between the VAM fungi and the plant roots. When the granules are applied to the soil and come in contact with plant roots, the fungal spores germinate and penetrate the root cells, establishing a secure biological connection. Once inside the root, the fungus grows an extensive network of ultra-fine threads called hyphae that spread far beyond the root zone into the surrounding soil. These hyphae are much thinner than plant roots and can access tiny soil pores and micropores where water and nutrients are trapped. The fungal network actively mines essential minerals like Phosphorus, Zinc, and Calcium from the soil and delivers them directly to the plant. In return, the plant supplies the fungus with sugars and carbohydrates produced through photosynthesis. This two-way exchange benefits both organisms—the plant gets better nutrition and water access, while the fungus gets energy to grow. Over time, this process not only feeds the crop but also improves soil structure, increases organic matter content, and makes the plant more resilient against environmental stress like drought, heat, and nutrient deficiency.

Note: For nursery applications, add about 100 ml of inoculant to the root system of each plant. During field transplantation, spread 200 ml of inoculant into the planting hole below the root system. For seed dressing, apply 50 gm of the bio-fertilizer per 1 kg of seeds and soak for an hour before sowing.

When to Use

HPM Gold should be applied in two doses for best results. Apply the first dose as a basal application at the time of sowing or transplanting. This ensures that the mycorrhizal fungi establish contact with the roots right from the start. Apply the second dose as a top dressing 25-30 days after the first application, during the active vegetative growth stage of the crop. This second application helps maintain the fungal population in the root zone and supports the crop during its peak nutrient-demand period. The product is most effective when soil moisture is adequate, as the fungal spores need moisture to germinate and colonize roots. Avoid applying during very dry soil conditions or just before heavy rainfall that may cause runoff. Since HPM Gold has a zero-day PHI, it can be used at any stage of crop growth without any harvest restrictions.

Step by Step Usage Instructions

  • Step 1 - Prepare the mixture: For field application, measure 4 kg of HPM Gold granules per acre. The granules can be mixed with Urea, DAP, or organic manure for easier and more uniform broadcasting across the field.
  • Step 2 - Apply basal dose: At the time of sowing or transplanting, broadcast the mixture evenly over the entire field surface. Ensure uniform distribution to maximize root contact and fungal colonization.
  • Step 3 - Apply second dose: After 25-30 days, apply the second dose of 4 kg per acre as a top dressing during the vegetative growth stage. Broadcast evenly across the field.
  • Step 4 - Light irrigation (if needed): If soil is dry, give a light irrigation after application to help the fungal spores germinate and establish contact with roots.
  • Step 5 - Safety: Always wear gloves, mask, and goggles while handling the product. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after use.

Compatibility

HPM Gold granules are compatible with most common granular fertilizers like Urea, DAP, and organic manure. They can be mixed together for easier broadcasting. However, avoid mixing HPM Gold with strong fungicides or chemical treatments that may kill the beneficial mycorrhizal fungi. If you need to use fungicides, apply them separately with a gap of a few days before or after applying HPM Gold.

Precautions & Safety

  • Always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, mask, and goggles while handling and applying the product.
  • Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after handling the product.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture to maintain shelf life.
  • Keep away from children, pets, and food items.
  • Avoid inhalation of dust during mixing and application.
  • Do not mix with strong fungicides or bactericides that may harm the beneficial fungal spores.
  • Ensure the product is from an authentic pack with a valid batch number and manufacturing date.

Side Effects & Phytotoxicity

HPM Gold is a biological product with a Green Label (safe/non-toxic) classification. It is generally safe for plants, beneficial soil organisms, and the environment when used as per recommended dosage. No phytotoxicity has been reported when applied at the recommended dose of 4 kg per acre. However, excessive application beyond the recommended dose is not advised as it does not provide additional benefits.

PHI / REI & Storage

  • PHI (Pre-Harvest Interval): 0 days (safe to use at any crop stage)
  • Shelf Life: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refer to the manufacturing date on the packet for expiration details.
  • Storage Conditions: Keep in a sealed container in a dry, shaded area. Avoid exposure to high temperatures and moisture.
