HPM Khaleesi Plus is a selective, post-emergence systemic herbicide specifically designed to control narrow-leaf grassy weeds in broadleaf crops. It contains Quizalofop Ethyl 10% EC, a higher concentration formulation compared to the standard Khaleesi (5% EC), which means farmers need to use less quantity per acre for effective results.
This herbicide works by being absorbed through the leaves of weeds and then moving through the plant's system down to the roots and growing tips. It blocks the production of fatty acids by inhibiting the ACCase enzyme, which stops the weed from growing new cells and eventually kills it completely. Farmers typically see weeds turning purple or red within 4 to 7 days, with complete weed death occurring in 10 to 15 days after application.
HPM Khaleesi Plus is suitable for use in a wide range of broadleaf crops including Soybean, Cotton, Groundnut, Onion, Black Gram, Green Gram, Mentha (Peppermint), Jute, Turmeric, and Tea. It targets tough grassy weeds such as Barnyard grass, Goose grass, Crab grass, Doob grass, Kans grass, Foxtail grass, Wild Sorghum, Volunteer Paddy, and Volunteer Maize. The product offers excellent rainfastness - it gets absorbed within 1 hour of application, so even if it rains shortly after spraying, the effectiveness is not reduced.
Key Benefits
- Higher concentration for lower用量: As a 10% EC formulation, Khaleesi Plus requires approximately half the dosage volume compared to the standard 5% EC version, making it more cost-effective per acre.
- Rainfast in 1 hour: The herbicide is quickly absorbed by weed leaves within one hour of application, so unexpected rain does not wash it off or reduce its effectiveness.
- Complete systemic kill: The herbicide travels from the leaves down to the roots through the plant's vascular system, destroying the entire weed structure and preventing regrowth.
- Selective crop safety: Targets only narrow-leaf grassy weeds while being completely safe for broadleaf crops like Soybean, Cotton, and Groundnut when used at recommended doses.
- Visible results within days: Farmers can see weeds turning purple or red within 4 to 7 days, with complete elimination in 10 to 15 days, providing clear proof of action.
- Long-lasting field cleanliness: Systemic action ensures prolonged weed control, reducing competition for nutrients, water, and sunlight, which leads to better crop growth and higher yields.
How It Works
HPM Khaleesi Plus works through a systemic mode of action as an ACCase inhibitor (IRAC Group 1). When sprayed on actively growing weeds, the Quizalofop Ethyl active ingredient is rapidly absorbed through the leaf surface within one hour of application. Once inside the weed, it moves through both the xylem (water-conducting tissue) and phloem (food-conducting tissue) to reach the roots and growing tips (meristems).
The chemical blocks the ACCase enzyme, which is essential for producing fatty acids - the building blocks of cell membranes. Without fatty acids, the weed cannot create new cells for growth. The weed stops growing almost immediately, and within 4 to 7 days, visible symptoms appear as the weed tissue turns purple or red. Complete death of the weed, including the root system, occurs within 10 to 15 days. Because the herbicide reaches the roots, weeds cannot regrow after treatment.
Since this product uses a single mode of action (Group 1), it is recommended to rotate with herbicides from different groups in subsequent seasons to prevent weeds from developing resistance.

Recommended Dosage & Application
Important Note: The dosage below is for Khaleesi Plus (10% EC formulation). Since it is twice as concentrated as the standard Khaleesi (5% EC), the dose volume is approximately half.
| Crop | Target Weeds | Dose (ml per Acre) | Water (L per Acre) | Dose (ml per Litre of Water) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Soybean | Annual & Perennial Grasses | ~180 ml | 150 - 200 L | 1 - 1.2 ml |
| Cotton | Annual & Perennial Grasses | 300 - 400 ml (5% EC equiv.)* | 200 L | 1.5 - 2 ml |
| Groundnut | Annual & Perennial Grasses | 300 - 400 ml (5% EC equiv.)* | 200 L | 1.5 - 2 ml |
| Onion | Annual & Perennial Grasses | 300 - 400 ml (5% EC equiv.)* | 200 L | 1.5 - 2 ml |
| Black Gram | Annual & Perennial Grasses | 300 - 400 ml (5% EC equiv.)* | 200 L | 1.5 - 2 ml |
| Tea | Annual & Perennial Grasses | 300 - 400 ml | 200 L | 1.5 - 2 ml |
*For crops where only 5% EC dosage data is available, reduce the volume by approximately half when using Khaleesi Plus 10% EC. Always refer to the product label for exact recommendations.
For Perennial Grasses: Use 500 to 600 ml per acre (for 5% EC formulation; adjust proportionally for 10% EC).
When to Use
Apply HPM Khaleesi Plus when weeds are young and actively growing, typically at the 2 to 4 leaf stage. This stage usually occurs around 20 to 25 days after sowing (DAS) for most crops. Applying at this early stage ensures maximum effectiveness because young weeds are more susceptible to the herbicide and have not yet developed strong root systems or competed heavily with the crop.
For best results, apply when the weather is clear and no heavy rain is expected within at least 1 hour of spraying. The product is rainfast within 1 hour, but heavy rain immediately after application should be avoided. Do not apply when weeds are stressed due to drought, waterlogging, or extreme temperatures, as this can reduce effectiveness. Ensure weeds are actively growing at the time of application for optimal absorption and translocation of the herbicide.
Step by Step Usage Instructions
- Check the label: Read the product label carefully before use. Verify the recommended dose for your specific crop.
- Prepare the sprayer: Use a clean knapsack sprayer fitted with a flat fan nozzle for uniform coverage. Ensure the sprayer is free from residues of other chemicals.
- Mix the solution: Fill the spray tank with half the required amount of clean water. Add the measured quantity of Khaleesi Plus and mix well. Add the remaining water and stir thoroughly.
- Spray application: Apply as a foliar spray, ensuring the weed leaves are fully wetted. Aim for complete coverage of the weed foliage for best absorption.
- Post-application: Do not spray if heavy rain is expected within 1 hour. After spraying, clean the sprayer thoroughly with water.
- Safety during application: Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, mask, and goggles. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling.
