Key Benefits
- Broad-spectrum pest control: Effectively controls both sucking pests (aphids, jassids, thrips, whiteflies) and chewing pests (bollworms, stem borers, leaf folders, leaf miners) in a single application.
- Dual-action formula: Combines organophosphate (Profenofos) and pyrethroid (Cypermethrin) chemistry for contact and stomach action, ensuring thorough pest elimination.
- Effective against resistant pests: Synergistic activity helps manage pests that have developed resistance to single-class insecticides like organophosphates or synthetic pyrethroids alone.
- Rainfast protection: Excellent translaminar effect allows rapid absorption into plant tissues, so the product remains effective even after rainfall.
- Acaricidal action: Also works against mites, providing wider pest control coverage beyond just insects.
- Quick results: Rapidly penetrates crop foliage and disrupts the nervous system of pests, showing visible results within hours of application.
- Compatible with most pesticides: Can be tank-mixed with commonly used pesticides (except alkaline formulations), making it easy to include in existing spray schedules.
How It Works
HPM Permit-99 contains two powerful active ingredients that work together to control a wide range of insect pests. Profenofos (40%) is an organophosphate compound that acts as a cholinesterase inhibitor. When pests come in contact with or ingest the spray, Profenofos disrupts their nervous system by blocking the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, leading to paralysis and death. Cypermethrin (4%) is a synthetic pyrethroid that also attacks the nervous system by interfering with sodium channels in nerve cells, causing rapid knockdown of pests.
The product works through both contact action (killing pests when sprayed directly) and stomach action (killing pests when they feed on treated plant parts). This dual mode of action ensures thorough control even of hidden pests under leaves. The synergistic activity between the two active ingredients makes the product especially effective where pests have developed resistance to either organophosphates or pyrethroids when used alone.
HPM Permit-99 has an excellent translaminar effect, meaning it rapidly penetrates and moves within plant leaf tissues. This absorption into plant cells provides protection that is not easily washed off by rain, making it reliable even in wet conditions. The product also possesses acaricidal properties, offering control against mite populations as well.

When to Use
Apply HPM Permit-99 when pest infestation is first noticed on the crop. Early application at the initial signs of pest activity gives the best results. For sucking pests like aphids, jassids, thrips, and whiteflies, spray when these insects are seen on young shoots and leaf undersides. For chewing pests like bollworms, stem borers, and leaf folders, apply at the early larval stages before they cause significant damage to plant tissues.
The product is suitable for use across multiple crop stages depending on pest pressure. Its rainfast property makes it a reliable choice even during monsoon or wet weather conditions when other insecticides may wash off. For crops like cotton, apply during the vegetative and reproductive stages when bollworm pressure is high. For rice, apply when stem borer or leaf folder damage is observed. Regular scouting of fields is recommended to time the application correctly.
Step by Step Usage Instructions
- Check pest infestation: Inspect your crop for target pests before deciding to spray. Apply only when pest levels cross the economic threshold.
- Prepare the spray solution: Fill the spray tank with half the required amount of clean water. Add the recommended dose of HPM Permit-99 (2 ml per litre of water or 300 ml per acre). Mix well. Add the remaining water and stir thoroughly.
- Wear protective gear: Put on goggles, a mask, gloves, and full-sleeve clothing before handling the product.
- Spray evenly: Use a knapsack sprayer with a fine nozzle. Spray uniformly on all parts of the crop, especially the undersides of leaves where pests often hide. Ensure complete coverage of the foliage.
- Do not eat, drink, or smoke during spraying.
- Clean equipment: After spraying, wash the sprayer and all equipment thoroughly with clean water. Do not dispose of wash water in water bodies.
- Post-application hygiene: Wash hands, face, and all exposed body parts with soap and water after completing the spray.
Compatibility
HPM Permit-99 is compatible with most commonly used pesticides. However, it should not be mixed with alkaline formulations or materials. When tank-mixing with other products, always perform a small jar test first to check for any adverse reaction. Mix in the correct order: wettable powders first, then suspension concentrates, followed by emulsifiable concentrates like Permit-99, and finally adjuvants if needed.
