HPM Stuff is a broad-spectrum fungicide that combines two powerful active ingredients — Carbendazim 12% and Mancozeb 63% — in a wettable powder (WP) formulation. This combination gives farmers both systemic (curative) and contact (preventive) action in a single product. It is designed to control a wide range of fungal diseases across many important crops including tea, chilli, grape, groundnut, mango, paddy, potato, maize, and apple.
Carbendazim works from inside the plant, stopping fungal growth by interfering with cell division, while Mancozeb acts on the plant surface, blocking spore germination and preventing new infections from starting. Together, they provide complete protection — curing existing diseases and preventing future ones. HPM Stuff also supplies zinc and manganese to the plant, which supports better root development and overall crop vigour. It can be used both as a preventive spray and as a curative treatment, giving farmers flexibility depending on disease pressure in the field.
This fungicide is effective against major fungal diseases such as blast in paddy, blight and leaf spot in potato and groundnut, powdery mildew and anthracnose in grapes and mango, blister blight and red rust in tea, and fruit rot in chilli. With its dual mode of action, HPM Stuff also helps manage fungicide resistance, making it a reliable choice for long-term disease management programmes.
Key Benefits
- Dual-action protection: Systemic (curative) and contact (preventive) action in one product ensures complete disease control from inside and outside the plant.
- Broad-spectrum disease control: Effective against blast, blight, mildew, leaf spot, anthracnose, fruit rot, and many other fungal diseases across multiple crops.
- Resistance management: Two active ingredients with different modes of action reduce the risk of fungal pathogens developing resistance.
- Improves crop health: Supplies zinc and manganese nutrients to the plant, promoting better root development, greener foliage, and overall crop vigour.
- Flexible use: Can be applied as a preventive spray or as a curative treatment when disease symptoms first appear.
- Long-lasting protection: Provides effective disease control for 7–10 days after application, reducing the need for frequent sprays.
- Safe at recommended doses: No phytotoxicity when used as per label recommendations.
How It Works
HPM Stuff works through two complementary modes of action that together provide complete disease protection.
Carbendazim (Systemic action): Once sprayed, Carbendazim is absorbed by the plant's roots and foliage and moves upward through the plant's vascular system (xylem). Inside the plant, it inhibits beta-tubulin synthesis — a critical process for fungal cell division. This stops the growth and spread of fungi that have already infected the plant tissue, providing curative action against existing diseases.
Mancozeb (Contact action): Mancozeb remains on the plant surface as a protective layer. It works by inactivating sulfhydryl groups present in fungal enzymes, disrupting the metabolism and respiration of fungal spores. This prevents spore germination and stops new fungal infections from establishing on the plant surface. Mancozeb is a multi-site contact fungicide, meaning it attacks fungi at multiple points in their life cycle, which makes it very difficult for pathogens to develop resistance.
Together, Carbendazim cures infections already inside the plant while Mancozeb prevents new infections on the surface. This dual protection ensures the crop stays healthy throughout the growing season.

Seed Treatment (Groundnut): Use 1 gram of fungicide per kg of seed for control of Tikka leaf spot, Collar rot, and Dry root rot.
Spray Frequency: Apply at the first appearance of disease symptoms. Repeat every 10–15 days depending on disease pressure and weather conditions.
When to Use
HPM Stuff should be applied at the first sign of disease symptoms for best results. Early application helps stop diseases before they spread widely across the crop. For preventive use, apply when weather conditions favour disease development — such as during periods of high humidity, rainfall, or when temperatures are moderate (20–30°C), which are ideal for most fungal infections.
For specific crops: In paddy, apply when blast symptoms first appear on leaves. In potato and groundnut, start spraying when the crop canopy closes and humidity increases. For grapes and mango, apply during the flowering and fruit development stages when powdery mildew and anthracnose are most active. In tea, apply during monsoon and post-monsoon periods when blister blight and red rust are common. For chilli, apply at the onset of fruiting when fruit rot and leaf spot typically appear.
Repeat applications every 10–15 days if disease pressure continues or if rainy weather washes off the spray deposit. Always follow the recommended pre-harvest interval (PHI) for each crop to ensure safe produce.
Step by Step Usage Instructions
- Calculate the required quantity: Determine the area to be sprayed. For general foliar spray, use 2 grams per litre of water or 300 grams per acre.
- Prepare the spray solution: Fill the spray tank with half the required amount of clean water. Add the measured quantity of HPM Stuff powder while stirring continuously.
- Mix thoroughly: Stir the solution well until the powder is completely dissolved and forms a uniform suspension. Add the remaining water and mix again.
- Check the equipment: Ensure the sprayer nozzle is clean and functioning properly. Use a well-maintained knapsack or power sprayer for uniform coverage.
- Wear protective gear: Put on gloves, a face mask, goggles, and protective clothing before handling the spray solution.
- Spray uniformly: Apply the solution evenly on both upper and lower leaf surfaces. Ensure complete coverage of the crop canopy for best results.
- Clean equipment after use: Rinse the spray tank and nozzles thoroughly with clean water after spraying. Dispose of rinse water safely away from water bodies.
- Observe waiting period: Respect the pre-harvest interval (PHI) for each crop before harvesting. Do not enter treated fields for at least 24 hours after spraying.
Compatibility
HPM Stuff is compatible with most commonly used pesticides and fungicides. However, it is recommended to avoid mixing with highly alkaline substances. Always conduct a small jar test before mixing with any new product to check for physical compatibility. Do not mix with other products unless specifically recommended on the label.
Precautions & Safety
- Personal protection: Wear gloves, face mask, goggles, and protective clothing while handling and spraying the product.
- Avoid contact: Do not inhale the spray mist. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. If contact occurs, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water.
- Do not mix indoors: Always prepare the spray solution in a well-ventilated outdoor area, not inside closed spaces.
- Keep away from food and water: Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling the product. Store away from food, animal feed, and drinking water sources.
- Environmental safety: Do not spray near water bodies, ponds, or rivers. Avoid drift to neighbouring crops and non-target areas.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Disposal: Do not reuse empty containers. Dispose of them safely as per local regulations. Do not contaminate water sources with leftover solution or container wash water.
Side Effects & Phytotoxicity
HPM Stuff is safe for crops when used at the recommended dosage. No phytotoxicity has been reported when applied as per label instructions. However, as with any chemical fungicide, avoid over-application or spraying under extreme weather conditions such as intense heat or drought stress, as this may increase the risk of crop sensitivity. Always follow the recommended dosage and application method.
