Key Benefits
- Broad-spectrum sucking pest control: Effectively controls rice hoppers, aphids, thrips, whiteflies, jassids, termites, and turf insects in one application.
- Systemic + translaminar action: Absorbed by roots and leaves, moves throughout the plant, and reaches pests hiding on the underside of leaves.
- Long-lasting protection: Provides effective control for 10–14 days after application at the recommended dosage.
- Versatile application methods: Suitable for foliar spray, soil drench, and seed treatment across multiple crops.
- Reduced surface runoff: SC formulation provides uniform coverage with enhanced penetration and stability on leaf surfaces, minimising waste.
- High compatibility: Can be tank-mixed with most commonly used fungicides and insecticides (except strong alkaline materials).
- Dual use – crop and termite control: Works as a crop insecticide and as a non-repellent treatment for pre-construction and post-construction termite control.
How It Works
HPM Super Imida contains Imidacloprid 30.5% SC, a systemic insecticide from the neonicotinoid chemical group (IRAC Group 4A). When applied to the crop, the active ingredient is quickly absorbed by the roots and leaves and distributed upward through the plant's vascular system (xylem). This systemic movement ensures that the chemical reaches all parts of the plant, including new growth.
The product also has translaminar activity, meaning it moves from the upper surface of the leaf to the lower surface. This is especially important for controlling sucking pests like aphids, whiteflies, and hoppers that typically hide and feed on the underside of leaves.
Once pests come into contact with or ingest the treated plant tissue, Imidacloprid binds irreversibly to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect's nervous system. This causes over-stimulation of the nerves, leading to paralysis, cessation of feeding, and eventually death. For termites, the product works through a "transfer effect" — infected termites carry the toxicant back to the colony, spreading it to other members including the queen.

When to Use
Apply HPM Super Imida at the early stage of pest infestation for best results. For crops like cotton and paddy, the ideal time is during the vegetative or squaring stage when sucking pests first appear. Using the product as a preventive measure during favourable conditions (warm, humid weather that encourages pest build-up) helps avoid heavy infestations.
For termite control in buildings, apply during pre-construction stage or through rodding/drilling for existing structures. The product becomes rainfast approximately 2–3 hours after spraying, so plan applications when no rain is expected during this window.
Step by Step Usage Instructions
- Prepare the spray solution: Fill the spray tank with half the required amount of clean water. Add the measured quantity of HPM Super Imida (24–30 ml per acre for foliar spray). Mix thoroughly while adding the remaining water.
- Agitate well: Shake or stir the mixture continuously to ensure uniform suspension. The SC formulation settles over time, so keep agitating during spraying.
- Check spray coverage: Adjust your sprayer nozzle to ensure fine droplets reach the underside of leaves where sucking pests hide. Complete and uniform coverage is important for best results.
- Apply at right time: Spray during early morning or late evening when temperatures are lower. Avoid spraying during peak sunlight or when honeybees are actively foraging.
- Clean equipment after use: Rinse the spray tank and nozzles thoroughly with clean water after application. Do not dispose of leftover solution near water bodies.
- For termite treatment: Mix 2.1 ml of product per litre of water. Apply as soil treatment during pre-construction or through rodding/drilling for post-construction termite control.
Compatibility
HPM Super Imida is compatible with most commonly used insecticides and fungicides. However, do NOT mix with highly alkaline substances such as Bordeaux mixture. Always perform a jar test before mixing with any new agrochemical to check for physical compatibility. Ensure thorough agitation of the tank mix before and during application.
Precautions & Safety
- Personal protection: Wear protective clothing, gloves, mask, and goggles during mixing and spraying. Avoid inhalation of spray mist and contact with skin or eyes.
- During application: Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling the product. Wash hands and face thoroughly with soap and water after use.
- Bee toxicity warning: Imidacloprid is highly toxic to honeybees. Do not spray during active flowering or when bees are foraging. Avoid drift onto flowering weeds or neighbouring flowering crops.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight. Keep tightly closed in the original container. Keep away from food, feed, and water sources. Store out of reach of children and pets.
- Environmental care: Do not contaminate ponds, rivers, or water bodies with the product or its containers. Dispose of empty containers safely as per local regulations.
