IIL Amuse is a powerful combination fungicide from Insecticides India Limited (IIL) that brings together two effective active ingredients — Azoxystrobin 30.5% w/v and Myclobutanil 4.85% w/v in a Suspension Emulsion (SE) formulation. This dual-action fungicide is designed to protect a wide range of crops from many common fungal diseases. Azoxystrobin belongs to the strobilurin group of fungicides and works by stopping energy production in fungal cells, while Myclobutanil is a triazole group fungicide that disrupts the formation of the fungal cell membrane. Together, they provide both preventive and curative action against diseases.
Amuse is suitable for use on important Indian crops such as rice, grape, apple, chilli, tomato, groundnut, wheat, and soybean. It effectively controls diseases like blast, sheath blight, powdery mildew, anthracnose, early blight, late blight, leaf spot, rust, and many others. The SE formulation ensures good coverage and better absorption into the plant tissue, making the fungicide more effective even under challenging field conditions. Farmers can rely on Amuse for broad-spectrum disease control that helps protect both yield and crop quality.
Key Benefits
- Dual-action formula provides both preventive and curative disease control for better field results
- Broad-spectrum effectiveness against multiple fungal diseases across many crops — reduces the need for multiple fungicides
- SE (Suspension Emulsion) formulation ensures good coverage, better sticking, and improved absorption on plant surfaces
- Two different modes of action help reduce the risk of fungicide resistance development in fungal populations
- Protects crop quality and helps preserve yield by controlling diseases before they cause significant damage
- Suitable for use in major Indian crops including rice, grapes, apples, vegetables, and oilseeds
- Combines contact (Azoxystrobin) and systemic (Myclobutanil) action for thorough protection inside and outside the plant
How It Works
IIL Amuse works through two complementary modes of action that attack fungi at different stages of their growth. Azoxystrobin, a strobilurin fungicide, works by inhibiting mitochondrial respiration in fungal cells. Simply put, it stops the fungus from producing energy, which causes the fungal cells to die quickly. This action is mainly preventive — it stops fungal spores from germinating and infecting the plant tissue. Azoxystrobin has some translaminar movement, meaning it can move through the leaf from the upper side to the lower side, providing protection to both surfaces.
Myclobutanil, on the other hand, is a systemic triazole fungicide. It works by inhibiting a key enzyme (C14-demethylase) that fungi need to build their cell membranes. Without properly formed cell membranes, the fungus cannot grow or reproduce. Myclobutanil moves upward through the plant's vascular system (xylem), reaching new growth and providing curative action against established infections. This systemic movement means the fungicide travels to parts of the plant that were not directly sprayed, offering protection to developing leaves and shoots.
When combined in Amuse, these two active ingredients provide a powerful one-two punch. Azoxystrobin stops new infections from taking hold on the plant surface, while Myclobutanil treats any infection that may have already started inside the plant tissue. This dual approach makes Amuse effective both as a preventive spray before disease appears and as a curative treatment when early signs of disease are noticed.

Recommended Dosage & Application
The dosage of IIL Amuse depends on the crop, disease, and stage of infection. Always follow the recommended dose printed on the product label. Use sufficient water to ensure complete and uniform coverage of the crop canopy. Apply when disease symptoms first appear or as a preventive spray during favourable weather conditions for disease development.
General guidelines for application:
- Mix the required quantity of Amuse in clean water and stir well before spraying
- Use a knapsack sprayer or power sprayer with a fine nozzle for uniform coverage
- Ensure thorough coverage of all plant parts, especially the undersides of leaves
- Apply during calm weather — avoid spraying in strong wind or rain
- Repeat application at 10-15 day intervals if disease pressure is high, as per label recommendations
When to Use
IIL Amuse should be applied when weather conditions favour fungal disease development — such as during periods of high humidity, frequent rainfall, or warm temperatures. The best time to start spraying is either as a preventive measure before disease appears in the field or at the very first signs of disease symptoms on the crop.
For crops like rice, apply when conditions are favourable for blast or sheath blight — typically during the tillering to panicle initiation stage. In grapes, apply before or during flowering and again during fruit development to control powdery mildew and anthracnose. For vegetables like tomato and chilli, start applications when plants are actively growing and disease pressure is expected. In apples, apply during the pre-flowering and post-flowering stages to protect against scab and powdery mildew. Early morning or late evening application is recommended when temperatures are lower and spray droplets dry slowly, allowing better absorption.
Step by Step Usage Instructions
- Check disease status: Inspect the field to confirm the presence or risk of fungal disease before deciding to spray.
- Calculate required quantity: Measure the exact amount of Amuse needed based on the recommended dosage for your specific crop and disease.
- Prepare spray solution: Fill the spray tank with half the required water. Add the measured quantity of Amuse and stir well. Add the remaining water and mix thoroughly.
- Calibrate sprayer: Ensure your sprayer is clean, properly calibrated, and fitted with a suitable nozzle for fine droplet coverage.
- Spray uniformly: Apply the mixture evenly over the entire crop canopy. Pay special attention to the undersides of leaves where many fungal infections begin.
- Clean equipment: After spraying, thoroughly clean all spray equipment with clean water to remove any residue.
- Observe re-entry period: Wait for the recommended time before entering the sprayed field for any activity.
