IIL Victor Super is a powerful, odorless insecticide from Insecticides India Limited, formulated with Imidacloprid 30.5% SC (Suspension Concentrate). It is specially designed for two main uses: termite control in buildings and structures, and management of sucking pests in agricultural crops. Whether you are building a new home, protecting an existing structure, or managing pests in your cotton, rice, or vegetable fields, Victor Super provides reliable, long-lasting protection.

As a systemic insecticide belonging to the neonicotinoid group (IRAC Group 4A), Victor Super works by disrupting the nervous system of insects. When applied to soil or plants, it is absorbed and moves through the system, making the treated area toxic to pests. For termites, its non-repellent action means termites cannot detect it and unknowingly carry the chemical back to their colony, leading to complete colony elimination. For crops, it is absorbed by the plant and protects against sucking pests like aphids, jassids, whiteflies, and plant hoppers.

The Suspension Concentrate (SC) formulation is water-based, virtually odorless, and easy to mix and apply. It offers high concentration in a small volume, making it cost-effective and convenient to handle. Victor Super is suitable for pre-construction termite treatment (applied to soil before building), post-construction treatment (injected into walls and soil around structures), and direct crop spraying. With proper application, it creates a durable chemical barrier that provides extended protection.

Key Benefits

  • Dual-purpose use – Effectively controls termites in buildings and structures, as well as sucking pests in agricultural crops like cotton, rice, and vegetables.
  • Odorless and comfortable – The water-based SC formulation has no harsh chemical smell, making it suitable for indoor use in homes, offices, and hospitals without needing to vacate the area.
  • Non-repellent termite action – Termites cannot detect the chemical barrier, so they pass through it and carry the active ingredient back to the nest, infecting the entire colony including the Queen.
  • Systemic crop protection – When sprayed on crops, the chemical is absorbed and moves throughout the plant, protecting even hidden parts from sucking pests.
  • Long-lasting residual effect – Creates a durable barrier in soil and wood that continues to protect against termite infestations for extended periods.
  • Cost-effective concentration – Higher concentration (30.5%) means you need less product compared to older formulations, saving on storage and transport costs.
  • Contact and stomach action – Kills pests both on direct contact and when they feed on treated surfaces, ensuring thorough control.

How It Works

IIL Victor Super contains Imidacloprid, a systemic insecticide from the neonicotinoid chemical class. It works by targeting the central nervous system of insects. Specifically, it binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in the insect's nerve cells. This blocks normal nerve signal transmission, causing the nerves to fire continuously and uncontrollably. The result is paralysis followed by death of the insect.

For crops, Victor Super is absorbed by the plant roots and leaves and moves upward through the plant's vascular system (xylem). This systemic movement ensures that the chemical reaches all parts of the plant, including new growth and the undersides of leaves where pests often hide. When sucking pests like aphids, jassids, or plant hoppers feed on the treated plant sap, they ingest the chemical and die.

For termite control, Victor Super works differently. It is non-repellent, meaning termites cannot smell or detect it. When applied as a soil barrier, termites tunnel through the treated zone and pick up the chemical on their bodies. They then carry it back to the colony and transfer it to other termites through social grooming and feeding. This "domino effect" allows the chemical to spread through the colony, eventually reaching and eliminating the Queen. The lateral soil movement property of the formulation helps the chemical spread sideways in the soil, creating a continuous, gap-free barrier that termites cannot bypass.

Recommended Dosage & Application

For Termite Control (Pre & Post Construction):

  • Dilution: 2.1 ml per 1 litre of water
  • Application Method: Drenching, spraying, or injection using a sprayer pump
  • Coverage: Saturate the soil or inject into drilled holes until the soil refuses to take more

Note: Dosage may vary depending on the type of treatment and severity of infestation. Always follow the label instructions for your specific use case.

When to Use

For Termite Control:

  • Pre-construction: Apply to the soil and building foundation before construction begins. This creates a protective chemical barrier under the building.
  • Post-construction: Apply when termite activity is noticed in wooden frames, walls, gardens, or around the building foundation. Drill holes at 30 cm (1 foot) intervals and inject the solution.

For Agricultural Crops:

  • Apply when pests first appear at the Economic Threshold Level (ETL) – when pest populations reach a level where control is economically justified.
  • For bee safety, spray in the evening when bees are not actively foraging.
  • Apply during active pest infestation for best results.

Step by Step Usage Instructions

For Termite Treatment:

  1. Prepare the solution: Mix exactly 2.1 ml of Victor Super in 1 litre of clean water. Stir well until fully mixed.
  2. For pre-construction: Apply the solution to the soil where the foundation will be laid. Ensure the soil is saturated to create a continuous chemical barrier.
  3. For post-construction: Drill holes of 12 mm width at 30 cm (1 foot) intervals along the affected area. Inject 1 litre of the mixture per hole or until the soil refuses to absorb more.
  4. For wooden frames: Inject the diluted solution directly into infected woodwork using a sprayer or injection method.
  5. For gardens: Drench the soil around affected plants or garden areas with the prepared solution.

For Crop Spraying:

  1. Prepare the solution: Mix the recommended dose (24-30 ml per acre for cotton/rice) in the required amount of water (200 L per acre).
  2. Fill sprayer: Pour the mixed solution into a clean sprayer tank.
  3. Spray evenly: Apply as a foliar spray, ensuring thorough coverage of the plant canopy, especially the undersides of leaves where sucking pests hide.
  4. Timing: Spray in the evening to protect beneficial insects like bees.
  5. Repeat if needed: Monitor pest activity and repeat application as necessary, respecting the pre-harvest interval.

Precautions & Safety

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear gloves, mask, and goggles during mixing and application.
  • Avoid contact: Do not inhale the spray or allow it to come in contact with skin and eyes. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after use.
  • Keep away: Store in a cool, dry place away from food, animal feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Environmental safety: Do not apply near fish ponds, water bodies, or areas where runoff can contaminate water sources. Imidacloprid is toxic to aquatic organisms.
  • During application: Keep pets and children away from the treated area until the surface is completely dry.
  • Disposal: Do not reuse empty containers for any purpose. Dispose of them safely according to local regulations.

Side Effects & Phytotoxicity

Imidacloprid is generally safe for crops when used at recommended doses. However, over-application or use under stressed conditions may cause phytotoxicity. Avoid spraying during extreme heat, high humidity, or when plants are under drought stress. The product is toxic to bees and other pollinators, so avoid spraying during flowering periods or when bees are actively foraging. It is also toxic to aquatic organisms and should not be allowed to contaminate water bodies.
