This is known as the "shock effect" or knockdown action — pests stop feeding and die within minutes of exposure.

Chlorpyriphos (Organophosphate - IRAC Group 1B): Once ingested or absorbed through the pest's body, Chlorpyriphos inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE). This causes a buildup of acetylcholine at nerve junctions, leading to continuous nerve signal transmission, exhaustion, and eventual paralysis and death. Avoid prophylactic (preventative) spraying; use the product only when pest presence is confirmed through regular field scouting.

For best results, apply during early morning or late evening hours. Avoid spraying during peak sunlight hours or when rain is expected, as heavy rain immediately after application can reduce the residual effect. The product provides effective residual protection for 10 to 14 days under normal weather conditions.

Step by Step Usage Instructions

1. Wear protective gear: Put on gloves, mask, goggles, and protective clothing before handling the product.
2. Measure the dose: Use a clean measuring cup to take the recommended amount (200–400 ml per acre depending on crop and pest).
3. Prepare the spray solution: Mix the measured dose in a small quantity of water first, then add to the full spray tank volume (200–400 litres per acre). Stir well.
4. Apply as foliar spray: Spray evenly on the crop foliage, ensuring thorough coverage of both upper and lower leaf surfaces.
5. Target hidden pests: For stem borers in paddy, direct the nozzle toward the base of the plant. For bollworms in cotton, ensure spray reaches the bolls and dense canopy areas.
6. Avoid adverse conditions: Do not spray in windy conditions, during rain, or when bees are actively foraging (mid-day). Spray in late evening to protect pollinators.
7. Clean equipment: Wash spray equipment thoroughly after use. Do not dispose of leftover solution near water bodies.

Compatibility

Crystal Lara 909 is compatible with most neutral fungicides such as Mancozeb and Carbendazim. Important warning: Do NOT mix with alkaline products like Bordeaux mixture or Lime Sulphur, as the alkaline nature will chemically break down the insecticide and make it ineffective.
