Key Benefits

  • Instant knockdown action – Paralyzes and kills pests immediately upon contact, stopping crop damage right away.
  • Broad-spectrum control – Effectively manages bollworms, fruit borers, jassids, thrips, beetles, and caterpillars across multiple crops.
  • Dual action protection – Works through both contact (direct spray) and stomach action (pests eating treated leaves) for complete control.
  • Cost-effective solution – Affordable per-acre treatment, ideal for small and marginal farmers looking for reliable pest control.
  • Good rainfastness – The EC (Emulsifiable Concentrate) formulation sticks well to foliage and resists washing off during light rains.
  • Works in cooler temperatures – Performs effectively during early morning and late evening sprays, making it suitable for varied weather conditions.

How It Works

Super Fighter contains Cypermethrin 25% EC, a synthetic pyrethroid (Type II) that acts as a powerful neurotoxin for insects. When sprayed on crops, the chemical enters the pest either through direct contact with the spray droplets or when the pest feeds on treated leaves.

Once inside the insect's body, Cypermethrin binds to the sodium channels in the nerve cells and keeps them open for too long. This causes a continuous, uncontrolled flow of nerve signals — a condition called repetitive firing. The insect experiences tremors, hyperexcitability, and loss of coordination, leading to rapid paralysis (known as "knockdown") and eventually death.

Super Fighter is a non-systemic insecticide, meaning it stays on the plant surface rather than moving inside the plant. This is why thorough spray coverage of the entire plant canopy is essential for effective results. The product has a negative temperature coefficient, which means it works slightly better in cooler temperatures — making early morning or late evening sprays more effective.

When to Use

Super Fighter is best used as a "rescue" treatment when pest populations are already visible and causing damage to the crop. It is ideal for the following situations:

  • Early pest detection: Apply as soon as bollworms, fruit borers, jassids, or caterpillars are noticed on the crop.
  • Cooler parts of the day: Spray during early morning or late evening for best results. Cypermethrin works more effectively in cooler temperatures and this timing also helps protect honeybees.
  • Vegetative to fruiting stage: Use during active crop growth stages when pests are most active and causing damage to leaves, shoots, or fruits.
  • After light rain: The EC formulation offers good rainfastness, but avoid spraying during heavy rain or when rain is expected immediately.

Step by Step Usage Instructions

  1. Check pest level: Inspect the crop and confirm that pest infestation has crossed the economic threshold level before spraying.
  2. Prepare the spray solution: Fill the spray tank with half the required water. Add the measured quantity of Super Fighter as per the dosage table above. Mix well. Add the remaining water and stir again.
  3. Ensure thorough coverage: Since Super Fighter is a contact insecticide, spray evenly to wet the entire plant canopy — both upper and lower leaf surfaces. "Coverage is kill."
  4. Use the right nozzle: Use a hollow cone or flood jet nozzle for uniform spray coverage on the crop.
  5. Clean equipment after use: Wash the spray tank and nozzles thoroughly with clean water after spraying. Do not wash equipment in ponds or water bodies.
  6. Follow safety measures: Wear gloves, mask, and goggles during mixing and spraying. Wash hands and exposed skin with soap and water after application.

Compatibility

Super Fighter is compatible with neutral fungicides like Mancozeb and common neutral liquid fertilizers. Do NOT mix with alkaline products such as Bordeaux mixture or Lime Sulphur, as this can reduce effectiveness. When mixing with other products, always perform a small jar test first to check for any adverse reaction.

Precautions & Safety

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear gloves, a face mask, and goggles while mixing and spraying the product.
  • Avoid skin contact: Cypermethrin can cause temporary skin irritation or a burning/tingling sensation (pyrethroid paresthesia). Wash affected skin with soap and water immediately. Apply oil or soothing cream if irritation persists.
  • Protect bees and fish: Super Fighter is highly toxic to honeybees and fish. Do not spray during peak flowering or when bees are actively foraging. Avoid spraying near ponds, rivers, or water bodies. Do not wash spray equipment in water sources.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from food, animal feed, and children. Keep the container tightly sealed.
  • Hygiene: Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling the product. Wash hands and face thoroughly after use.

Side Effects & Phytotoxicity

When used at the recommended dosage, Super Fighter is safe for the target crops. However, as a contact insecticide, it can also affect beneficial insects like natural predators and pollinators if sprayed indiscriminately. Avoid spraying during flowering to protect honeybees. Over-application or use in extremely hot conditions may cause leaf stress in sensitive crops — always follow the recommended dose.
