United Current Lambda Cyhalothrin 5% EC is an emulsifiable concentrate (EC) insecticide from United Chemicals. It contains Lambda Cyhalothrin 5% as its active ingredient. Lambda Cyhalothrin belongs to the pyrethroid group of insecticides, which are known for their fast action against a wide range of insect pests. The EC formulation mixes easily with water and forms a uniform spray solution that can be applied using standard knapsack or power sprayers.

This product is used in crop protection programmes to control insect pests that damage crops and reduce yield. It is applied as a foliar spray on the standing crop. Because Lambda Cyhalothrin acts on the insect's nervous system, it delivers quick knock-down of target pests after application. The 5% EC strength is a commonly used field concentration, making it suitable for regular pest management schedules in crops such as Cotton, Okra, Maize, Soybean and Sunflower.

United Current is manufactured and supplied by United Chemicals, a company based in Morbi, Gujarat, that manufactures and supplies a range of agrochemical products. Farmers and dealers looking for a reliable pyrethroid-based insecticide for foliar pest control can consider this product as part of an integrated pest management plan. Always read the product label and leaflet carefully before use, and follow the recommended dose and safety instructions for best results.

Key Benefits

  • Fast knock-down action on target insect pests due to the pyrethroid mode of action.
  • Emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation mixes readily with water for uniform spray coverage.
  • Suitable for foliar application in Cotton, Okra, Maize, Soybean and Sunflower.
  • Helps reduce pest damage to leaves and growing parts, supporting healthier crop growth.
  • Can be fitted into a regular pest management schedule along with other crop protection practices.
  • Manufactured and supplied by United Chemicals, an established agrochemical manufacturer.

How It Works

Lambda Cyhalothrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide. It works by acting on the nervous system of insects. When the spray comes in contact with the pest or the pest feeds on a treated surface, the active ingredient interferes with the normal flow of nerve signals. This leads to rapid paralysis and death of the insect. Because of this mode of action, the effect is usually quick, and farmers often see pests stop feeding shortly after application. Lambda Cyhalothrin has contact and stomach action, meaning it works both when the pest touches the treated surface and when it ingests treated plant material. The 5% EC formulation helps the active ingredient spread evenly over the leaf surface when mixed with water, so the spray covers more area and reaches pests hiding on the underside of leaves and in crop canopy. For best results, apply when pest populations are at an early stage and cover the crop thoroughly during spraying.

Recommended Dosage & Application

United Current Lambda Cyhalothrin 5% EC is applied as a foliar spray. Mix the required quantity of the product in clean water and spray uniformly over the crop using a knapsack or power sprayer. Ensure full coverage of leaves, including the underside, where many pests feed and hide. Always follow the dose recommended on the product label and leaflet for your specific crop. Do not increase the dose beyond the label recommendation. Spray during the cooler hours of the day, preferably early morning or late evening, to reduce drift and improve effectiveness.

When to Use

Apply United Current when target insect pests first appear on the crop and before their population builds up. Early-stage application gives better control and reduces the chance of the pest spreading across the field. Monitor your crop regularly by checking leaves, growing tips and the underside of leaves for signs of pest activity. Spray when pest numbers cross the economic threshold level recommended for your crop. Avoid spraying during strong wind, or when rain is expected within a few hours, as this can wash off the spray and reduce effectiveness. Repeat application only if the pest population returns, and follow the interval recommended on the label.
