How It Works
Rickstin works as a systemic fungicide, meaning it is taken up by the plant and moves within it. When applied to the roots, the active ingredient passes between cells into the xylem vessels and is carried upward by the sap stream towards the foliage. When applied to the leaves, the fungicide enters the xylem and spreads to the outer parts of the leaf, though it does not move back down towards the roots.
Once inside the plant, Carbendazim acts by inhibiting the development of germ tubes, preventing the formation of appressoria and stopping the growth of mycelia. These are the key stages in fungal development that allow disease to progress. By blocking these stages, Rickstin stops the fungus from establishing and spreading, giving the plant protection from within. This systemic behaviour is why the product provides both preventive and curative control against a wide range of fungal diseases.
